Numbers 11 and 12 in the Bible
Tonight will be last teaching on numbers in the Bible.
11 represents disorder, incompleteness of government.
In Gen. 32:22 we read of the eleven sons of Jacob.
Ill. Remember Jacob had 12 sons but eleven of them turned on and betrayed Joseph sold him as a slave and lied to their father about his death.
Joseph spent 11 years in Potiphar’s house (Gen. 37:9).
Veterans Day (Remembrance Day) is always 11-11.
World War 1 ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
(we suffered such loss from the disorder of war and now we are incomplete – we’ve lost the people who were with us.
In Acts 1:26 the eleven apostles realized they were incomplete in their testimony and needed to add a twelfth.
Eleven is associated with urgency. The phrase “it’s the eleventh hour” suggests that time is running out because the clock only goes to twelve.
Samson is an example of disorder and number eleven:
He lost everything because he would not put GOD and his calling first. Delilah betrayed him for eleven hundred pieces of silver!
It was 11-22-63 that USA began to disintegrate by taking prayer and the Bible out of schools. Madelyn Murray O’Hare.

Think about this. How many of you know what December 7 is remembered for? Pearl Harbor on December 7. WE don’t refer to that date as 12-7 but we all refer to September 11 as “9-11”.

After September 11th there are 111 days left in the year.
The first place to hit the towers was Flight 11.
Flight 11 had 92 on board (9 + 2 = 11).
Flight 11 had eleven crew members (2 pilots, 9 stewardesses).

The first fire unit to arrive at the towers lost 11 firemen.

Afghanistan has 11 letters.
“The Pentagon” has 11 letters.
Ill. Exactly one year to the day after 9-11 the New York lottery had a bizarre thing happen. The ping pong balls that randomly reveal the winning 3 numbers were – you guessed it 9 -1 – 1.
Christopher M. Rump a professor who studies probability at Univ. of Buffalo said, “there was a one in 1,000 chance for that to happen!”
When GOD is preaching using number 11, HE is usually telling us we are out of order and not submitted to HIM.
NUMBER 12 – Perfect Government = GOD is in charge of something.
Twelve tribes of Israel. JESUS had twelve disciples.
New Jerusalem city has 12 gates and 12 foundations.
It is 12,000 furlongs, wall is 144 (12 x12) cubits. (Rev. 21)

Ill. This is why JESUS rebuked Peter for pulling a sword and cutting off the ear of the High Priest. HE declared that HE could call on 12 legions of angels if HE wanted to stop the people from arresting HIM.
“Don’t you realize I could ask MY FATHER for angels to deliver Me? Instantly HE would answer ME by sending twelve legions of angels. Matthew 26:53
Legion = 6k army. 12 legions = 72k angels.
Remember one angel obliterated a 185k army of men in one night.

There are 12 months in a year because GOD rules over every year.
60 minutes in an hour (12 x 5).
24 times zones. (More if count International Date Line).
24 elders around GOD’S throne.
The word “Savior” is used 24 times in the Bible.
GOD preaches through the number 12 when HE has a message about something to do with perfect government.
